Perhaps my most Unintended Gayest Blog Yet

This should be made absolutely 100% perfectly CLEAR.

Taylor Lautner, Co-Star of Twilight and New Moon

Is Taylor Lautner a gifted athlete? Yes.

Does he have great genetics? Yes

Is there Photoshop, makeup, and lighting used to enhance the “After” picture? Yes.

Is he using Steroids and Human Growth Hormones (HGH)?

Yes!

I imagine in the coming weeks this will become a major story and at the very least I can say I was one of the first to talk about it.

Reportedly Lautner gained 29lbs for his role in New Moon, which due to his slim build in Twilight and the need for the character to physically change over the course of the films the producers considered replacing him with another actor.

He wanted to stay in the film franchise so badly ($$$) that he got to work quickly to bulk up. Its been reported that filming of Twilight ended in May 08 and filming of New Moon began in Dec 08. That roughly means about 7-8 months of time between shoots.

Is it possible for an adult that worked out excessively, dieted, took legal high end supplements could achieve these results in that time. Maybe, very unlikely though.

Now take a 16 year old who is going on 17. Could he do it? Absolutely not. He would have to take Anabolic Steroids and HGH. There is no way around it.

You also have to consider this. Just because he had 7 months to workout it doesn’t mean he had to show results in that time. Remember they where considering recasting his role. That means he had 3-4 months at best to get roughly into that physical condition to prove he could look the part they wanted.

These results are absolutely impossible to achieve without Steroids and HGH.

So here is my take on Steroids and HGH. I’m not against them. In fact there is nothing clinically proven to be negative about them (aside from unwanted side effects, but none are not life threatening) unless overly abused.

Along with the mapping f the Human Genome, Steroids and HGH have the highest likelihood of improving our species health and physical wellbeing, and its sad that to think that the false/negative press on the subject is stalling progress in this field and denying all of us easier access to substances that can greatly improve our health and slow down and possibly reverse the aging process.

There is even some studies that show with proper use it maybe possible to bring the average lifespan of an American from 75 years of age to 120!

HOLY SHIT!

Now what is wrong with this is that Lautner is still a teenager. He is not even an adult. There is good credible research that says taking these substances before adulthood may be legitimately dangerous due to the body still being in a huge developmental phase already involving massive, accelerated amounts of hormones and testosterone. Adding substances on top of this can be too much for the body to take.

Now perhaps under close medical supervision this may not be bad for him or other teenage boys. In fact there is a good shot that he maybe actually perfectly fine. And he may even be obtaining the substances through completely legal means. The problem now is that he is officially starting a bad representation of what a teenage boys body should look like.

The average teenage boy (if he can somehow have the money to acquire Steroids and HGH) will have to do it through illegal means. And will certainly not have the money for medical examinations to make sure he is staying healthy and properly using the substances.

If you Google his name you will be swamped with reports and blogs by Girls swooning over him and how hot his new body is. He is now setting a dangerous standard that is unrealistic, dangerous, and most likely illegal for teenage boys to try and achieve. And now boys all over the country and world are going to be motivated more then ever to strive for this look.

This is by no means a new problem, however this is the most “In Your Face” example in recent years. I do hope this opens up the discussion of Steroid and HGH use, but unfortunately I’m sure it will be heavily one sided.

For further information about Steroids and HGH I highly recommend watching the documentary Bigger, Stronger, Faster by filmmaker and armature power lifter Chris Bell. It’s a wonderful balanced showing of all the sides to the issue.

Also Juiced by former Major Leuge Baseball player Jose Conseco (He is also the self professed introducer of Steroids to the sport) is a must read on the subject. It is brutally honest and gives phenomenal information how the substances have effected society and professional sports, and lies to hide it and the motivations to take them.

I’m sure I’ll talk more about the Pros and Cons of Steroid use in the future.
