Biggest Piece of Shit since the CED Videodisc Player
It had several glitches undesirable qualities but the one that jumps out at me is this. When the device was turned on it released a surge of magnetism. That’s all fine and good with the exception that fucking software was actually, Mother Fucking Actually stored on Cassette Tapes!
If you don’t know the math it works like this. Magnet + Recording tape (Cassette, VHS, shit your too young to know about) = All info on tape erased!
Imagine that. A machine designed to collect, store, and retrieve data that’s destroys it when its turned on.
WTF!

Read an extract from Chapter 1 of The Greatest Show on Earth
"Imagine that you are a teacher of Roman history and the Latin language, anxious to impart your enthusiasm for the ancient world — for the elegiacs of Ovid and the odes of Horace, the sinewy economy of Latin grammar as exhibited in the oratory of Cicero, the strategic niceties of the Punic Wars, the generalship of Julius Caesar and the voluptuous excesses of the later emperors. That’s a big undertaking and it takes time, concentration, dedication. Yet you find your precious time continually preyed upon, and your class’s attention distracted, by a baying pack of ignoramuses (as a Latin scholar you would know better than to say ignorami) who, with strong political and especially financial support, scurry about tirelessly attempting to persuade your unfortunate pupils that the Romans never existed. There never was a Roman Empire. The entire world came into existence only just beyond living memory. Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Catalan, Occitan, Romansh: all these languages and their constituent dialects sprang spontaneously and separately into being, and owe nothing to any predecessor such as Latin. "

Richard Dawkins new book: The Greatest Show on Earth
I guess it shows where I've been the last couple of weeks. Richard Dawkins new book hit the shelves on September 22nd.
I’m pretty disappointed in myself for forgetting about the book coming out. But its on the shelves as we speak, I highly recommend it to everyone. I haven’t read it yet (Obviously) but I love Dawkins work. He’s very straight forward and his work is very easy to understand which helps people like me who can barley read to begin with.
No one has ever explained Evolution as well as Dawkins so it should be great reading his first book dedicated entirely on the subject!

Film Review Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
Just saw the latest animated film from DC/Warner Bros (WB). Once again I’m pretty happy with what they have produced. In the last 2-3 years DC and Warner have managed for the most part to put out some really good animated films which helps subsidize the lack of live action films that they can’t seem to make with the exception being the rebooted Batman franchise.
Even with Superman they can’t seem to get the ball rolling. Keep in mind its going on 4 years since Superman Returns (I think a very underrated movie) was released. WB is close to possibly loosing film rights through complex lawsuits as well.
This new film is essentially about the aftermath of Lex Luthor rising to the highest position in the land by becoming the President of the US. He is actually doing a really great job. He has established world peace, rebounded the American economy from an economic depression and civil disorder, and has begun employing Superhero’s as Government workers to help police the planet. And all of this has brought the crime rate down to its lowest levels in memory. His approval rating is higher then any other president in histories.

Everything you know is wrong
According to his personal Chef and waitress he liked German Sausage (Hitler being Gay is still up for debate), ham and stuffed baby pigeon. He also washed it down with the tears of the Jewish people (Ironically Kosher).
Its become WAY to fashionable to compare EVERYONE and EVERYTHING to Hitler as well as the Third Reich when it comes to any idea or belief from well just about everyone and everything. Its an overplayed hand that has nonsensical argument used in politics and when there is bullshit in the air it should be called out and the perpetrators should be exposed as wrong.

5 bikini baristas charged with prostitution
From KOMO News
"EVERETT, Wash. -- Five baristas at a local bikini coffee stand are accused of engaging in prostitution while on the clock. Women, ages 18 to 24, are accused of groping and other sexual acts, including exposing their breasts and privates and licking whipped cream off of each other in exchange for money. The evidence is pretty clear," he said. "Baring their breasts and pulling down their underwear or bikinis, exposing their entire bodies, in some cases."
Video From Q13 FOX News
Am I the only one who thought it was funny and surprised when the Barista asked the guy if he wanted a flash so she showed him her Cootch? Talk about underselling yourself.

Crime & Punishment & Roman Polanski
I don’t really have a conclusion or plan with this blog, it kind of goes all over the place. Its not really formatted to prove a point or achieve anything. Its more of a streaming of my thought process, so please just bare with it.
So the story of Roman Polanski getting arrested after 30 years of hiding is absolutely amazing. He has been living in Switzerland and France during that time to avoid extradition to the US. Polanski fled the country to keep from serving prison time over his guilty plea of the rape of a 13 year old girl 1977.
Oh and not just rape, but providing alcohol for the reason of intoxicating a minor. Drugging a minor with Quaaludes. And forced oral sex and sodomy on a minor.
But hey, Chinatown was a pretty badass great movie.
That aside should Roman Polanski still be arrested after all these years?
My answer is Yes. But...

People with 'no religion' gain on major denominations
By Cathy Lynn Grossman, USA TODAY
"Americans who don't identify with any religion are now 15% of the USA, but trends in a new study shows they could one day surpass the nation's largest denominations — including Catholics, now 24% of the nation. American Nones: Profile of the No Religion Population, to be released today by Trinity College, finds this faith-free group already includes nearly 19% of U.S. men and 12% of women. Of these, 35% say they were Catholic at age 12."

Insurance Company Loses Lawsuit After Discriminating Against Atheists
From FriendlyAtheist.com By Hemant Mehta
"GuideOne Mutual Insurance Company was offering a free service to people who bought their homeowners and renters insurance — a service that would offer “special benefits and discounts.” It was called FaithGuard and it only applied to “churchgoers” and “people of faith.” The implication being, I suppose, that non-religious people would cause all sorts of problems…That didn’t sit so well with one atheist, one agnostic, and the (non-profit) Lexington Fair Housing Council."

Global Warming, more like Global Boring! J/K, were all Fucked!
So its pretty much a given fact that Climate Change is happening. Is anyone really arguing this point anymore?
Its happening got it. Its essentially scientifically proven and charted with examples showing what is happening to our planets temperature and what is currently resulting from its change.
But its not the issue of “if its happening” or “why its happening” that’s bothering me.
What’s bothering me is that all I hear about is “if its happening” or “why its happening”.
I don’t hear shit about what we are going to actually do about it. And I don’t mean cut back on C02’s, or create new tougher factory standards, I’m talking about what the fuck are we going to do when are Planetary Shit starts hitting the Geographic Fan.

The Estate of Jack Kirby sues over rights to Marvel Charecters
The comic book world and Hollywood seem to keep getting messier and messier. Its amazing how over the last 80 years these things have yet to fully be settled. Along with the (Completely Incomprehensibly complicated) Warner Bros. vs. Jerry Seigel est. over Superman I have a feeling the comic book era in this country might be winding down.
Too many legal issues and too many characters/properties will probably lead to horrible mismanagement. Marvel can’t really afford to keep putting out bad products, but I guess that’s Disney’s problem now, but if they can’t turn a profit for their already super pissed off shareholders then I would think Marvel may just fade away, or maybe just for awhile.
By the way this isn’t the first huge legal battle Jack Kirby (himself at the time) had had over rights to his work. In the 80’s he successfully got co-ownership of his original artwork from Marvel, so I’m thinking his family may have a good shot with the case. And the timing couldn’t be better because there’s never been a bigger target to sue.
From DarkHorizons.com reported by Garth Franklin
The estate of Jack Kirby, co-creator of Marvel comic book heroes like Captain America, The Fantastic Four, X-Men, The Avengers, Iron Man, Hulk, The Silver Surfer and Thor, has sent notices terminating copyright to publishers Marvel and Disney as well as film studios that have made movies and TV shows based on characters he created or co-created including Sony, Universal, Fox and Paramount says Bleeding Cool via Deadline Hollywood Daily.

Snake with a working leg and claws killed in China
It’s a fascinating look at Atavism or more commonly known as Evolutionary Throwback. Every so often previously used genes from ancestors reemerge. In the case of the snake it was a case of the leg genes from an ancestor that kicked it. In all living things we contain a log of traits that have been catalogued and stored in our DNA, however as time goes by and Natural Selection takes its course things fade away, but every so often a trigger or release of the preserved gene is ignited and something happens.

I had a talk with my Mom today and she was telling me about how my aunt, her children, and grandchildren came over to visit my Grandparents. We haven’t seen much of them over the last couple of decades mostly due to her being the black sheep of the family.
My Aunt is well known by my family as being a drug addict, former prostitute, and con artist. She actually stole my Great Grandmothers wedding ring, and has been extorting my Grandparents for years, using scams and guilt trips to get what she wants.

Pollock Jokes
A blonde was telling a priest a Pollock joke, when halfway through the priest interrupts her, 'Don't you know I'm Polish?'
'Oh, I'm sorry,' the blonde apologizes, 'do you want me to start over and talk slower?'
One day you wake up and something you've always known is gone. And I mean REALLY gone. What happened to them?
The funny thing about this joke is when I last told a Pollok joke I had a similar response to the person I was telling it to. Unfortantly I wasn't blonde at the time.

More reason to Educate about Safe Sex
Its bad enough in our country that we have people fighting to teach the public about safe sex, but in other countries where its more excepted there is still a great lack of misinformation going around. This is why we ALL need to do more on this matter. Maybe we should think of ourselves as walking information kiosks.
The following is from a UK Survey by market research company Opinion Health and reported by the BBC.
"One in five women said they had heard of kitchen items, including bread, cling film and even chicken skin, being used as alternative barrier methods. Others had heard food items such as kebabs, Coca-cola or crisps could be used as oral contraceptives. The survey questioned 1,000 women aged 18 to 50"

On Interrupting the Bible and Homosexuality
From Mathew 8:13
"And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour."
Analysis:
What was the relationship between the centurion and his slave? Were they a gay couple? If so, Jesus didn't seem to mind.
Jesus affirmed a gay couple:
The Greek word that the Roman centurion uses in this passage to describe the sick man – pais – is the same word used in ancient Greek to refer to a same-gender partner.

Any country that elects (and especially re-elects) a person as president of their nation that believes literally that the Rapture of the Bible is and will happen and is looking forward to it coming, well that country deserves Armageddon.
How simple, and narrow minded would a nation have to be to do something so stupid as put into power a leader that is welcoming and embracing our doom with open arms. I mean Literally looking forward to it.
You would have to be insane to put a person with those beliefs in charge thinking they would have your best interests at heart and would even consider their obligation to protect their people against the wrath of God. This scenario would be a conflict-of-interest at the highest possible level.
Luckily in this country we don’t take shit from traitors like that. Yep, that’s right! That person would be a traitor to their country on the highest level possible and would be brought up on the charges of Treason, and Attempted Crimes Against all Humanity. All of which would be punishable by execution. Texas should be a good place to hold it considering they seem to be really good and efficient at it.
But as bad as all of that is the real blame would fall on the shoulders of the people. Yeah you know the people who put that person in charge, especially after knowing what his views where being Pro-Extinction and all Those people would really need to take responsibility and be held accountable for the inability to understand that they are putting their family, country, and species wellbeing in grave jeopardy.
That’s why I’m so glad that I live in the USA and we would never do something so ridicules as to…
(god damn it)
And God Bless America. We deserve it.

Nice Article on Non-Superhero Comic Books Being Adapted to Film
Its good to see articles like this on main stream media outlets. I love comic books and love it when a great movie based on one comes out. Unfortunately most of them are not all that great.
The article is kind of a fluff piece on “Whiteout” and “Surrogates“. Sadly the early buzz on these two aren’t the most flattering.
It makes me think about the plans for the “Y: the Last Man film Adoption“. After just finishing reading it I really feel it doesn’t need to be presented in any other format. Its perfect just the way it is. If it gets made I don’t think I’ll watch it, I have no need to nor any desire to see Shia Labeouf butcher the character of Yorick Brown.
Good article non the less, check it out.

Follow up on the Pledge of Allegiance & History
From Wikipedia.com article on "the Pledge of Allegiance".
History
The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist minister, a Christian socialist,
Bellamy's original Pledge read, "I Pledge Allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."
The pledge was supposed to be quick and to the point. Bellamy designed it to be stated in 15 seconds. He had initially also considered using the words equality and fraternity[3] but decided they were too controversial since many people opposed equal rights for women and blacks

Is there a way to get Jenny McCarthy to face Genocide charges?
I'd love to think so. Her massive and insane Anti-Vac campaign may have doomed a generation. I wonder if she only eats organic?
Here's a nice article on the subject.
Jenny McCarthy: Autism Expert and Harbinger of Death
Saturday, April 4, 2009 (By Chris Rangel MD)
Miss. McCarthy is famous . . for being famous (FBF) and has used her superpowers of paradoxically unearned famiousosity to become even more famous for having a son (Evan) with “autism“, then claiming this was caused by the MMR vaccine, and then becoming the first person in history to develop a successful treatment for autism.
No, this Op-Ed article, which came out on April 4th 2008, was not a late April fools joke, and yes, CNN is a media whore that will print anything penned by good looking celebrities, and no, Miss McCarthy did not directly plagiarize her “autism treatment” from that great American medical quack, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg (though she came suspiciously close).

I'm sure Alaska would start declaring how we need their Oil so we would have to subsidize them. Of course that would require us to drill it for them. They are American Oil companies, not Alaskan.
But maybe it would encourage us even more to not need oil and find alternative energy sources. Probably not, but its a nice thought.
